Infectious Clinical Hospital No. 2 was founded in 1937 to provide specialized medical care to patients with infectious diseases and highly dangerous infections. Today it is a modern medical and diagnostic facility with 1,094 beds. On average the hospital treats over 20,000 patients per year. It admits patients with COVID-19, erysipelas, meningococcal disease, malaria, cholera, hemorrhagic fever and acute intestinal diseases. Among the hospital staff, there are 14 doctors of medical sciences (Sc.D.), 55 candidates of medical sciences (Ph.D.), 3 honored doctors of the Russian Federation, 1 honorary healthcare worker of the Russian Federation, 3 honored Moscow doctors, 15 honorary Moscow medical practitioners, 1 honorary Moscow healthcare worker, 4 doctors hold the honorary Moscow Doctor status, 131 doctors have the highest qualification category, and 38 the first qualification category. The hospital has 14 departments, an isolation ward in emergency department, an X-ray Department with a CT scan room, a Physical Therapy Department, clinical diagnostic and bacteriological laboratories, an ELISA laboratory, an express laboratory, as well as ultrasound, endoscopy, and laser treatment rooms. There is also a room for tick-borne encephalitis immunoprophylaxis. The hospital also has a Surgery Department for 50 patients with a 4-table operation unit, an Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Units equipped with 8 intensive care beds for surgical patients, an Intensive Care Unit with 14 beds for adults and children, as well as hemodialysis and hyperbaric oxygenation therapy rooms.
