Surgery for dislocated lens is a microsurgical intervention to remove the displaced lens and implant an artificial intraocular lens (IOL) secured to the eye’s internal structures. During the operation, the surgeon removes the mispositioned lens through microscopic incisions and implants an IOL, which is fixed to the iris or sclera using special sutures. The intervention is recommended for patients with traumatic lens dislocations, congenital weakness of the zonular apparatus (Marfan syndrome), and lens subluxation causing diplopia, increased intraocular pressure, and vision loss. As a result, high‑quality vision is restored.
