The surgery is performed for an ascending aortic aneurysm with valvular insufficiency, as treating these conditions separately is ineffective and increases the risk of repeat surgeries. As a result, a functionally competent aortic valve complex is restored, and the risk of aortic rupture is significantly reduced.
