Khokonov Mukhamed Amirkhanovich

Head of Surgical Department No. 2, surgeon, holds the title "Honorary Medical Worker of the City of Moscow" (2019).

Specialises in elective and emergency surgical care for diseases of the abdominal organs and peripheral veins. Proficient in modern diagnostic and treatment methods, including:
• Laparoscopic and minimally invasive operations on the gallbladder, liver, bile ducts, pancreas and gastrointestinal tract;
• Reconstructive surgery on the biliary tree of any complexity;
• Treatment of liver and biliary tract pathologies (gallstone disease, calculous and acalculous cholecystitis, post‑cholecystectomy syndrome, strictures and stenoses of the common bile duct, pathologies of the major duodenal papilla, tumours of the gallbladder and ductal system);
• Treatment of acute and chronic pancreatitis, pancreonecrosis, cystic and tumourous lesions of the pancreas (including pancreatoduodenal resection);
• Surgical treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers, inflammatory and tumourous diseases of the upper gastrointestinal tract complicated by bleeding;
• Surgery for abdominal wall hernias (including rare and postoperative forms) using mesh endoprostheses and laparoscopic hernioplasty;
• Application of vacuum therapy for pancreonecrosis (one of the first experiences in Russia);
• Diagnosis and prevention of venous thromboembolic complications using the latest methods;
• Performance of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), percutaneous transhepatic portography (PTP);
• Stenting for biliary tract strictures of various aetiologies.

2011 – defended Doctor of Medical Sciences dissertation.
Since 2000 (23 years) – Head of Surgical Department No. 2 at City Clinical Hospital No. 15 named after O.M. Filatov.
Participates in research on surgical pathology of the liver, biliary tract, pancreas and peripheral veins.
Supervises the training of young specialists: 6 doctoral and 16 candidate dissertations have been defended based on the department.
