Katz Dmitriy Vasilyevich

Head of the Eye Microsurgery Department of the Day Hospital, Associate Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology named after A.P. Nesterov, Faculty of General Medicine, Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia, holds the status of "Moscow Doctor".

Dmitry Vasilievich is proficient in modern methods of diagnosis and treatment of ophthalmic diseases, including:
• Surgical treatment of cataracts by phacoemulsification with implantation of intraocular lenses (Russian and foreign made);
• Treatment of glaucoma by surgical methods and using diode laser (including modified transscleral laser cyclocoagulation in advanced stages);
• Treatment of age‑related macular degeneration (AMD), retinal vein occlusions and retinal diseases with intravitreal administration of angiogenesis inhibitors (Lucentis®, Eylea®);
• Conservative treatment of glaucomatous optic neuropathy, circulatory disorders of the ocular vascular system, and retinal dystrophies (including revascularisation of the posterior segment of the eye);
• Treatment of acute inflammatory processes of the eyeball and adnexa, including purulent and traumatic injuries;
• Development of individual treatment plans for each patient.

• Since 1998 – commencement of practical, scientific and teaching activities;
• Since 2011 – Executive Director of the Russian Glaucoma Society;
• Since 2015 – Head of the Eye Microsurgery Department of the Day Hospital at City Clinical Hospital No. 15 named after O.M. Filatov;

1996 – graduated from Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University specialising in "General Medicine".
1998 – completed residency in "Ophthalmology" at the same university.
