Inpatient treatment is performed under continuous monitoring (regular ultrasound monitoring to assess treatment effectiveness, as well as electrocardiographic monitoring of the mother's heart rhythm to avoid adverse drug effects). Usually, no antiarrhythmic therapy after birth is required unless structural heart defects are found.
