Intervertebral disc replacement (nucleoplasty) is a modern minimally invasive intervention aimed at restoring the supporting function of the spine and eliminating pain. Depending on the clinical case, the surgery may involve either removing part of the nucleus pulposus to reduce pressure from a herniation on the nerve or completely replacing a worn‑out disc with a mobile implant. The procedure is indicated for disc protrusions and small herniations when conservative treatment is ineffective, as well as for significant reduction in disc height. As a result, compression of the nerve roots is relieved, pain disappears, and spinal mobility is restored.
