Strabismus and nystagmus surgery is a procedure to correct eye misalignment and restore synchronized eye movements. During the intervention, the surgeon adjusts the extraocular muscles by either shortening or weakening them to achieve symmetrical eye positioning. The surgery is recommended for patients with strabismus, as well as those with involuntary oscillatory eye movements (nystagmus) that do not respond to conservative therapy. As a result, the patient achieves not only proper eye alignment but also an expanded visual field and relief from discomfort.
