Reoperative heart valve surgery (the first reoperation) is aimed at replacing a damaged artificial heart valve with a new one. Prosthetic valve dysfunction causes repeated circulatory insufficiency, requiring recurrent surgical treatment. During the surgery, the previously implanted prosthesis is replaced with a new one. When selecting the type of prosthesis for re-implantation, the primary cause of dysfunction is taken into account.
