Reoperative heart valve surgery (the second and further reoperations) is a high-tech repeat surgical intervention to replace a damaged artificial heart valve with a new one performed due to wear, dysfunction, or infection of the previous artificial valve. During the surgery, the previously implanted prosthesis is replaced with a new one. The surgery is performed on patients with structural valve deterioration, thrombosis, or suture dehiscence following a previous intervention. Modern techniques allow to avoid the risk of acute heart failure, restore the quality of life, and live actively.
