Intracranial stenting is a minimally invasive procedure to restore cerebral blood flow and reduce the risk of stroke. The intervention is performed through a small puncture in an artery in the arm or leg: under X‑ray guidance, a stent is delivered to the site of narrowing or aneurysm, where it expands and anchors in place, restoring the normal diameter of the blood vessel. This procedure is typically recommended for patients with vascular stenosis, aneurysms, or a high risk of ischemic stroke. Due to its low invasiveness, patients recover quickly and can soon resume their normal daily activities.
